ZANZIBAR: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged teachers responsible for handling children at pre-primary schools to ensure that the government’s goal of nurturing children in good conduct and morals is achieved.

She made the statement during the launch of Tasani Pre-Primary School in Tasani Village, Makunduchi, Zanzibar, earlier on Tuesday, emphasizing that the primary goal of establishing such schools is to prevent children from being left unsupervised on the streets and to provide them with early training in proper behavior.

“The sole goal of this center is to raise our children morally, teaching them how they should behave in society, how to greet elders, and so forth, so that by the time a child goes to primary school, they know well who they are and what they should do,” the President noted.

She added, “Teachers who will be assigned to these centers should work to raise children to achieve these goals.”

The newly launched pre-primary school has a total of five classes, with each classroom accommodating no more than 40 children.

However, President Samia asked parents and guardians to play their part by participating and contributing to various school activities in order to maintain its quality.
