Women TAPO, AKHST team up to improve health for women vendors
DAR ES SALAAM: WOMEN TAPO has joined forces with Aga Khan Health Service Tanzania (AKHST) to address the pressing health challenges facing women vendors.
Women TAPO is a dynamic community-based organisation dedicated to empowering local market vendors.
According to the organisation, the partnership aims to enhance both the economic and social well-being of women through comprehensive health initiatives and services.
The available information shows that women vendors in the country encounter numerous health issues linked to their work environments and socioeconomic conditions.
These challenges include poor hygiene, musculoskeletal disorders, respiratory problems, limited access to maternal and reproductive health services, mental health issues, harassment, nutritional deficiencies and limited access to healthcare.
