Volleyball teams see mini-transfer end

AS four days remain before the mini- registration window climaxes, Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (TAVA) has reminded clubs to utilise it well before the deadline.

As revealed yesterday by the association’s Secretary General, Laurence Safari, the window which was opened by central committee on April 15th, will be closed on April 25th  this year.

Recently TAVA extended the opening date of the mini-registration window to April 14th from April 1st this year.

Safari said the exercise has been going well since it was opened, but he reminded the club to honour the time set so as to have a smooth operation.

“Since the window was opened five days ago now we have only four days ahead of the climax, we would like to inform all TAVA affiliated clubs’ leaders to use the mini-registration window wisely, especially for those wishing to strengthen their squads,” he said.

“We want also to remind them that players to be registered must be those who have not been registered with any club in the country or abroad,” he added.

The secretary-general, however, stressed that the number of new players to be transferred will remain two.

TAVA has reminded clubs to consider Article 2 ( of the Registration Rules, which says ‘Each team will be able to register and reduce no more than two (2) players, In addition, with this temporary registration, the number of players will remain the same at least (14) and no more than 20.’

He also insisted that according to the Registration Rules for the Year 2023 Article 1 (1.4) the second phase of the competition, the season should also have opened on April 19, but now this second phase will open on April 30th after the registration window is closed.

Due to the changes, the second phase of the competition will also end on May 30th which will also wind up all regional-level leagues for this year.
