Vision 2050 is very inclusive, Prof Mkumbo affirms

DODOMA: The Minister of State in the President’s Office for Investment, Prof Kitila Mkumbo, has stated that the National Vision 2050 has been inclusive because it involved various groups that represent a significant portion of Tanzanian society during the opinion collection process.

Prof Mkumbo made these remarks today, July 17, during the launch of the Vision held at the Jakaya Kikwete Conference Centre in Dodoma.

Prof Mkumbo further said that the youth group aged between 15 and 35 was more involved in the opinion-gathering process, which means this vision will be highly relevant to young people—who have a greater chance of reaching the year 2050.

Another group he mentioned as being involved was civil society organizations, who had the opportunity to review the content of the Vision and acknowledged that Vision 2050 is meaningful and impactful.

Other involved groups included the gender network, which confirmed the Vision’s inclusivity regarding gender, various current and retired leaders, and leaders of political parties.

“This Vision is a political and national consensus, meaning it brought together people from different sectors and statuses in our society to ensure it is effective,” he added.
