UWT hails Ndejembi appointment

DODOMA: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi’s (CCM) Women’s Wing (UWT) has congratulated Deogratius John Ndejembi on his appointment and subsequent confirmation as Vice-President of Tanzania, describing the decision as a reflection of the confidence the ruling party has placed in him.

UWT Chairperson Mary Chatanda said on Friday that the appointment demonstrated Mr Ndejembi’s integrity, hard work and commitment to serving the nation, qualities she said had been demonstrated through various leadership positions he had held.

She was speaking in Dodoma while issuing a statement on behalf of CCM women across the country, also commending the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for unanimously endorsing Mr Ndejembi for the position.

“His appointment is a major step carrying great honour, confidence and responsibility from the party for leadership characterised by patriotism, integrity and readiness to serve Tanzanians,” Ms Chatanda said.

She further congratulated Parliament for unanimously confirming Mr Ndejembi as Vice-President, saying UWT was confident that his leadership experience would contribute to national development.

Ms Chatanda wished Mr Ndejembi success in his new responsibilities and said women members of CCM would continue supporting him in serving the nation.

In the same statement, UWT commended the CCM NEC for its decision concerning former Central Committee and NEC member Emmanuel John Nchimbi, saying the action demonstrated the importance of discipline and adherence to the party’s rules.

Ms Chatanda said UWT supported the decision, noting that it was reached in accordance with the CCM Constitution, regulations, procedures and guidelines.

“Within Chama Cha Mapinduzi, no member is above the party, nor is anyone more important than the party,” she said.

She said every CCM member, regardless of position or status, was required to respect the party’s Constitution, regulations and procedures.

Ms Chatanda said adherence to the party’s rules and disciplinary procedures was essential in maintaining accountability, discipline and responsible leadership within CCM.

She said UWT would continue supporting initiatives and decisions aimed at strengthening discipline, integrity and responsible leadership in the party.
