CCM’s Youth Wing (UVCCM) Secretary General, Fakii Rafael Lulandala, has called on Members of Parliament from the organisation to use their positions to find solutions to youth unemployment.
Mr Lulandala delivered this message in the Uzini constituency on Tuesday while receiving five motorcycles, 10 sewing machines and 12 bicycles.
The sewing machines and bicycles were presented by the legislator for the Uzini constituency, Mr Khamis Hamza Chilo and the Special Seats Representative in the Zanzibar House of Representatives, Ms Salha Mwijuma, who is a member of the UVCCM.
Mr Lulandala emphasised UVCCM’s priority to tackle the challenges of youth unemployment by creating a conducive environment for self-employment opportunities.
He commended the leaders who donated these essential tools, which are crucial for empowering the youth in the South Unguja Region and their constituencies to initiate self-employment projects.
“I have received various equipment, including bicycles, sewing machines and motorcycles, which will greatly benefit our UVCCM youth in the South Unguja Region. This signifies your commitment to the welfare of the youth,” stated Lulandala.
He urged the beneficiaries of the equipment to take good care of them, as they would help alleviate unemployment challenges and provide transportation solutions for some UVCCM members.
Mr Lulandala insisted that the 60 years of the Revolution should prompt self-reflection to ensure that every youth is actively protecting the interests of the party and its affiliated organisations.
Mr Hamza encouraged them to engage in self-employment through tailoring.
UVCCM Regional Representative Salhia Mwijuma explained that the donated items would assist UVCCM officials in voter registration activities during intraparty elections.
