THE US government has pledged to continue prioritising conservation and environmental protection projects to enable Tanzania to make a significant contribution to environmental conservation in the world.
The US Ambassador to Tanzania, Michael Battle said this in Kigoma recently, noting that implementation of conservation and environmental protection projects is crucial for making the world a better place to live, and Tanzania has a chance to contribute on that.
Ambassador Battle said that the US government has been providing a lot of money to the Tanzanian government and various government and private institutions to enable them to conserve environment.
He said that electricity projects including solar energy and natural gas projects for domestic use have a great contribution in protecting and conserving the environment.
“The US government will continue to fund these projects,” he said.
Commenting on economic empowerment projects for young people and women, he said that the projects have great benefits in eliminating poverty and making the group fulfill their dreams.
