VATICAN: US President Donald Trump has arrived at Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican.

Trump, along with First Lady Melania Trump, are attending the event. Trump paid his respects to Francis’ casket at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome as the funeral service was slated to begin.

Trump and Francis have clashed in the past.

Francis criticized Trump in 2016 for his desire to build a wall on the US-Mexico border to curb migration, suggesting that Trump is not a Christian. Trump, meanwhile, had said it was “disgraceful” for a religious figure to question his faith.
