THE US Embassy has trained police officers and trainers of the Dar es Salaam Police Academy (DPA) on combating forgery of various government documents, including passports.
Issuing certificates to graduates on Wednesday, the Head of the Dar es Salaam Police Academy, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Dr Lazaro Mambosasa said the training was aimed at helping the police officers in combating the crime of forging various documents.
Dr Mambosasa urged the graduates to use well the methods they learnt in the training because the US is one of the most advanced nations in technology. He also asked the US Embassy to provide full training for Tanzanian police officers who are joining the training.
On his part, ADP Trainer who is among the graduates, ACP Hamisi Msolo thanked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camilus Wambura, for creating a good relationship with the US Embassy that resulted in conducting such an important training.
ACP Msolo expressed hopes that the training is going to bring efficiency in the police operations.
Speaking earlier, DPA Trainer, ACP Samweli Maimba thanked the leadership of Dar es Salaam Police Academy for providing them with important training which will build great capacity for the trainers of the college.
