US City of Milwaukee celebrates Tanzania Day

Mosorec International Foundation, Inc. based in the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the US has hosted and presented its first Tanzania Day, a special event in which guests experienced Tanzanian hospitality, tradition and entertainment.

The family friendly free event which was open to the public took place on 9 th November, 2023 at the Milwaukee City Hall with pageantry, particularly when the City of Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson officially proclaimed that day November 9 th asTanzania Day, according to Mosorec International Foundation, Inc. Founder/President/CEO Dr Christine Mosore.

Food, music, education, dance, fashion show, entertainment, and Tanzanian culture colored the day.
Among the guests were students from different schools in the Greater Milwaukee area who also took a tour of the Milwaukee City Hall.

“What delighted me the most was seeing many guests especially students from the greater Milwaukee area participating and having a good time,” Dr Mosore said.

The Tanzania Day event coincided with the commemoration of the 7 th anniversary of the City of
Milwaukee and Tarime District, Tanzania Sister Cities that was established on November 7,
2016.

Many congratulatory messages and acknowledgements were received from the City of
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Governor of Wisconsin Tony Evers.

Other congratulatory and well wishes came from US Congresswoman Gwen Moore,Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor,Chairman of the Milwaukee Sister Cities Committee -Alderman Russell Stamper II, City of Milwaukee Common Council, and many other elected officials and community leaders.
