Uhuru forum links women, mentors, economic success

DAR ES SALAAM: WOMEN leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across the nation are set to gather in Dar es Salaam for the Uhuru Women’s Economic Forum 2026.
The platform is designed to strengthen women’s participation in economic growth and decision-making spaces.
Scheduled for next month, the forum will bring together participants from business, civil society and community organizations.
The event is organised by Liberty Sparks in collaboration with national women-focused groups, including the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), with a goal of expanding economic opportunities and leadership pathways for women.
Organisers indicate that the forum will convene around 200 participants, creating a space for dialogue, shared experiences and networking among women from diverse sectors.
According to the concept behind the forum, discussions will centre on leadership development, financial independence and strategies to increase women’s visibility and influence in key economic sectors.
Sessions are expected to feature experienced entrepreneurs, civic leaders and professionals who will share practical insights drawn from their own journeys.

The programme also aims to link women with potential mentors, collaborators and support networks to help translate ideas into sustainable ventures. Beyond individual growth, organisers say the forum recognises women as vital drivers of Tanzania’s broader economic progress.
By strengthening access to knowledge, networks and leadership platforms, the initiative seeks to contribute to inclusive development that benefits families and communities.
The gathering is also expected to encourage younger women and emerging entrepreneurs to see greater possibilities for themselves in business and leadership roles.
As Tanzania continues to emphasise economic transformation and innovation, events such as this forum reflect ongoing efforts to ensure women are not only participants but influential actors in shaping the country’s development path.
For many attendees, the forum will serve as both an inspiration point and a practical step toward expanding impact in their respective fields.
