UDOM appoints Prof Sunzu as its Deputy Vice Chancellor

DODOMA: THE Chancellor of the University of Dodoma and the retired Chief Justice of Tanzania, Prof Ibrahim Juma, has appointed Prof Jefta Sunzu as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance and Administration for a term of four years.

Before the appointment, Prof Sunzu served as Dean of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) at the University of Dodoma.

According to a statement issued by the university, Prof Sunzu’s appointment is effective since December 24, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Council of the University of Dodoma, in accordance with Section 2.17(a) of the University of Dodoma Establishment and Scheme of Service, 2023, has appointed Dr Deo Shayo as Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for a period of three (3) years.

Before his appointment, Dr Shayo was a Senior Lecturer in the College of Informatics and Virtual Education (CIVE).

Dr Shayo’s appointment is effective since January 1, this year.

“The Management and the entire University of Dodoma community extend their sincere congratulations to both appointees on assuming these leadership positions at the University of Dodoma. We wish them every success in the discharge of their duties,” a statement from the university read.
