TZ unveil Taifa Stars squad

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has announced names of players making a youthful National Team – Taifa Stars. In a bid to ensure that the country has a formidable side, Coach Hemedi Suleiman ‘Morocco,’ announced the squad, and the players are set to travel to Saudi Arabia for two friendly matches against Sudan.

The 21-man squad was unveiled yesterday, with many young players leading the pack, including striker Kelvin John from KRC Gent of Belgium.

The squad also has and Abraham Vuai Nassoro from Azam FC who is under FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

At FIFA, once noted t At FIFA, once noted its President Gianni Infantino, one of its overarching aims is to give every talent a chance, and that launching of the TDS was one of the keys to achieving the objective.

Other players players picked for the national duty are goalkeepers Ahmed Ali Suleiman from Uhamiaji FC, Ally Salim Juma from Simba SC, and Abraham Vuai Nassoro from Azam FC (FIFA TDS).

Other players and their clubs in brackets are defenders Mukrim Issa Abdallah from Ihefu FC, Alphonce Mabula Msanga from RFK Novi Sad in Serbia, Miano Danilo Van Den Bos from Alicante in Spain, and Gadiel Michael Kamagi from Cape Town Spurs in South Africa.

Also in defense are Abdulmalik Adam Zakaria (Namungo FC), Baraka Shabaan Mtuwi (Mashujaa FC), and Abdulrahim Seif Bausi from Uhamiaji FC.

Midfielders in the squad comprise of Mohammed Ali Omar Sagaf (Boreham Wood – England), Morice Michael Abraham (RFK Novi Sad – Serbia), Khalid Habib Idd (Singida FC), Ishaka Saidi Mwinyi (KMK FC) and Jabir Seif Mpanda from Getafe U-17 in Spain.

The attacking lineup comprises of Omary Abdallah Omary (Mashujaa FC), Ben Anthony Starkie (Ilkeston – England), Oscar Adam Paul (Kakamega FC – Kenya), Kelvin Pius John (KRC Genk – Belgium), Tarryn Allarakhia (Wealdstone – England) and Ibrahim Hamad Ahmada from Zimamoto FC.

According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) statement, Taifa Stars players will depart today, May 8, 2024, for Saudi Arabia for the two friendly matches.
