TANZANIA: THE NATIONAL Beach Soccer team will be competing in the three-day Beach Soccer Casablanca Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in Casablanca, Morocco from Friday to Sunday this week.
In a recent briefing with the ‘Daily News,’ Head Coach Jaruph Rajab mentioned that everything is set for the contest and the team expects to depart for Morocco tonight.
The four participating teams are hosts Morocco, Tanzania, France and Belgium.
Our team will begin their campaign by facing France on Friday, followed by a match against Morocco on Saturday, and their final game will be against Belgium on Sunday.
“We are excited to take part in this special competition, especially as we prepare for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BAFCON) finals to be held in Egypt.
Our players are in high spirits and we have no injury concerns, giving us hope for a strong performance against the other teams,” he said.

Coach Rajab emphasised that all three opposing teams are of high quality in Beach Soccer performance, from which important lessons can be learned.
“We are gearing up for the BAFCON finals and need a strong team. The best way to achieve this is by competing against teams of a higher calibre.”
“After the Casablanca Cup, we will return to the country. If all goes according to plan, we will head to Oman for additional training,” he added.
Tanzania gained direct qualification for the BAFCON finals following Uganda’s withdrawal from the qualifiers. The nations which will compete are Egypt (hosts), Tanzania, Morocco, Ghana, Mauritania, Mozambique, Malawi and Senegal.
