THE Head Coach of Mbeya-based Tanzania Prisons, Mohamed Abdallah ‘Bares’ has said he is impressed with his team’s performances in their last four premier league matches.
He added he is also impressed with the consecutive win matches. First, they won 1-0 against Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera. Then, they beat Geita Gold by 3-1 at Nyankumbu girls’ stadium in Geita, Namungo FC by 3-2 at Majaliwa stadium in Lindi, and won 3-1 against relegation haunt Ruvu Shooting FC.
He added they still need to do well while insisting they will maintain the momentum in the next season.
“Tanzania Prisons is among the oldest clubs in the country, but it was a bad wind that passed through my predecessor (Patrick Odhiambo), and I had seen a few shortcomings and worked on them.
I must admit my players have shown great transformation; we want the same quality next season,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mbeya City FC Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru said they need three points to remain in the Premier League for the ninth consecutive season.
Mbeya City, who are gambling their chances in the top-flight league, are placed 12th with 30 points. On Wednesday, they will confront Young Africans at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
“We have two important games left; if we win against Yanga, it will be a big advantage for us as our goal is to stay in the Premier League next season,” he said.
He called upon the Mbeya football fraternity to support their team in their two remaining matches.
