TZ hails China for economic prosperity

TANZANIA has commended China for its social and economic transformations that have been recorded in the past 73 years.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Ambassador Liberata Mulamula issued the compliments  on Saturday in an event to plant friendship trees as a sign to mark China’s 73rd National Day.

The trees were jointly planted by the Chinese ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian and Ambassador Mulamula at the sub offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation in Dar es Salaam.

“We commend China for the achievement that it has recorded in the past 73 years, this day is marked while the two countries also celebrate 61 years of healthy bilateral diplomatic relations,” she noted.

Adding; “the trees that have been planted here are the sign of life, growth and journey, friendship, unity and solidarity, indeed our two countries share a lot at international level”.

For her part, Ambassador Chen said China and Tanzania enjoy profound traditional friendship, the seeds of which were sown by the founding fathers- the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere and Chairman Mao Zedong.

“By planting these two friendship trees, we intend to firmly keep China-Tanzania ties in our heart and constantly advance the bilateral relationships,” she noted.

She added that, for the past half century and more, the China-Tanzania friendship trees have taken root, flourished and borne rich fruits in various fields of cooperation.
