TZ, Finland sign MoU for consultations

Tanzania and Finland have taken a bold step to enhance their diplomatic relations, especially by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for annual political consultations.

Helsinki, FINLAND: Tanzania and Finland have taken a bold step to enhance their diplomatic relations, especially by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for annual political consultations.

The agreement was formalized in Helsinki on Wednesday by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo and Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.

According to Mr Kombo, the MoU aims to pave way for the two countries to collaborate on key bilateral issues that benefit both sides and in particular ensuring a closer partnership.

The ceremony saw key officials including Tanzania’s Ambassador to Finland, Grace Olotu, and Finnish Ambassador to Tanzania, Theresa Zitting, the Director of Europe and Americas, Ambassador Swahiba Mndeme and the Director of Legal Services, Dr. Gift Kweka presiding over.
