FINLAND: Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, is in Finland for a three-day working visit to co-chair the Second Tanzania-Finnish Political Consultations.
The visit, running from October 8 to 10, 2024, aims to deepen diplomatic ties and boost investment opportunities between the two countries.
A statement from the Ministry highlighted that Mr Kombo, alongside Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, will engage in key discussions on strengthening bilateral relations.

Upon landing in Helsinki Airport, Mr Kombo was welcomed by Finnish Ambassador to Tanzania, Theresa Zitting, and Tanzania’s Ambassador to Sweden and Finland, Grace Olotu.
In addition to the diplomatic talks, Mr Kombo’s agenda includes business meetings aimed at attracting major Finnish companies to invest in Tanzania’s forestry, energy, ICT, tourism, and education sectors.
The minister is being accompanied by senior officials from the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA), and Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE)
