Two security guards killed in Geita DC

GEITA: TWO security guards who were employees of a private security company have been killed by unknown people at Busanda village, Busanda ward, in Geita district.

Geita District Commissioner, Mr Colnery Magembe, confirmed the incident on Friday last week, explaining that the killing happened on the night of December 13rd, 2023.

Mr Magembe said the names of the deceased were still unknown.

He said that after receiving information over the incident, the district’s defense and security committee immediately directed the Police Force to make a follow up on the incident.

“The security guards were found killed at different scenes at the same village, one was found killed beside the building while the other was found killed at the village market,” he explained.

The district commissioner said one of the dead bodies indicated that the deceased was hit by a sharp object on the face and the other was hit on the head and both died during the same night.

He said on December 14th, 2023, the defense and security committee and him arrived at the scene to speak to the residents of Busanda village about the incident.

“The villagers seem to have doubts on one person whom they heard quarreling with the security guards. That person threatened them,” he said.

Mr Magembe said he has already directed the police force to conduct a thorough investigation and look for the suspect.
