Two firms partner to provide Tanzanians with affordable mobile devices

DAR ES SALAAM: ITEL and Onfon Microfinance have agreed to form a strong partnership aimed at providing clients with affordable and quality mobile phones.
Speaking during the launch of the Itel branch in Dar es Salaam, the Marketing Manager, Sophia Msafiri, said the collaboration aims to ensure that more Tanzanians, especially those in underserved communities, can access smartphones through flexible financing options.
“Our mission has always been to bring smart life to everyone. By working closely with Onfon Microfinance, we can reach more people who need reliable, quality smartphones without financial strain, ’’said Sophia.

On his part the Onfon Microfinance Country Manager, Omaoro Evans has encouraged more customers to take advantage of this opportunity, inviting them to visit Onfon branches to apply for smartphone loans. He emphasized that the process is simple and inclusive.
Onfon Microfinance, on the other hand, has been instrumental in extending small loans to individuals and small businesses.
The two companies plan to expand the program nationwide, with additional offerings such as device insurance and tech support in the pipeline. Both ITEL and Onfon Microfinance view digital inclusion as a key driver for economic empowerment and are positioning their partnership as a practical solution for increasing smartphone penetration in Tanzania.
