Two dead in speeding crash on Kauzeni Road in Handeni
TANGA: TWO people have died in a fatal road accident after a speeding Toyota Noah lost control and crashed into a parked Toyota Canter truck early Monday morning in Kauzeni, Kwenjugo Ward, Handeni District.
Tanga Regional Police Commander Almachius Mchunguzi confirmed the incident, attributing it to overspeeding.
He added: “The Toyota Noah, traveling from Korogwe to Handeni, was moving at a high speed when the driver lost control at a bend in Kauzeni and slammed into the stationary Canter.”

Elaborating, he noted that several passengers in the Noah sustained injuries and were rushed to Handeni Town Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital’s mortuary.
According to the statement released by Handeni District Commissioner Mr Albert Msando one of the deceased was identified as Abdul Kareem Kimemeneke (49), a Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (JWTZ) officer from the 83rd Battalion in Vigwaza, who is also a resident of Kwa Mfuko, Vibaoni Ward, Handeni.
