Two coaches coming to upgrade kabaddi
TWO qualified coaches are expected to arrive soon from India to prepare national men’s and women’s teams for the World Cup finals in India.
The coaches; Simrat Gaikwad and N Soundarajan will soon arrive in the country, according to Tanzania Kabaddi Sports Association(TKSA) Chairman, Chairman Abdallah Nyoni who said the coaches are tasked to train the players for one year.
According to Nyoni, the main reason to bring to Tanzania high caliber coaches is to accomplish the goals made by TKSA in bringing huge revolution to the game.
He said the government under the National Sports Council (NSC) is involved in the whole set up by supporting the coaches by providing residency, accommodation as well the transport when the coaches execute their duties inside and outside the country.
He said the Indian High Commissioner initiated the move to bring the coaches to Tanzania and will facilitate the flight, accommodation and other procedures to enable them perform their duties upon arrival in the country.
‘’I would like to kindly thank the Tanzanian government and India for their contribution in bringing here the coaches who will train the players for the World Kabaddi Cup mission,’’ he said.
While addressing this, he said the coaches will run several training programmes in Dar es Salaam and other parts of the country.
He has commended the Indian High Commission and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports for their huge support and he promised to continue collaborating with various stakeholders to develop and promote the game.
Recently, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Saidi Yakubu stated the government is responsible for teams’ coordination when going to participate in the World level competitions.
Yakubu said as for now they cooperate with the Indian Commission in selecting the best coaches for the National Kabaddi team ahead of the World level tournaments.
Yakubu also assured the Kabaddi association to continue collaborating with the Indian High Commission in promoting the game.
