Twiga Stars captain Opah joins Mexico’s FC Juarez

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’S national women’s team captain, Opah Clement, has signed with Mexican club FC Juarez, joining her compatriot Julietha Singano, who has been with the club since the 2022/23 season.

Opah’s move marks a new chapter in her career after previously playing for top clubs across Europe and Asia.

She first gained prominence at Simba Queens, where she enjoyed significant success before moving abroad.

In 2022, she joined Kayseri Kadın in Turkey on loan, later securing a permanent transfer to Beşiktaş for the following season.

In the 2023/24 campaign, she played in China for Henan Jianye, scoring five goals in her single season with the club.

With her latest transfer, Opah becomes the third Tanzanian female footballer to play in Mexico.

Before her, Singano joined FC Juarez as a central defender, while Enekia Lunyamila signed with Mazatlán last season.

During her stints abroad, Opah showcased her goal-scoring abilities, netting six goals for Beşiktaş and five for Kayseri Kadın.
