TUCTA hails NBC for sponsoring Labour Day

ARUSHA: THE Trade Union Congress of Tanzania (TUCTA) has commended the financial institutions citing NBC Bank for their collaborative efforts in serving workers and the successful organisation of the International Workers Day celebrations held nationally at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, recently.

The event graced by the Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango, on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and attended by various government, religious, and workers union leaders was another annual occasion to uphold workers rights and improve working conditions.

In his remarks, TUCTA president Tumaini Nyamhokya noted that the efforts of the financial institutions and other stakeholders in organizing the celebrations through sponsorship in the country in teaming up to organize such events is a display of how the care for workers’ welfare.

“Our collaboration with these institutions is not limited to the preparations for this event, but also includes various financial services they provide to our members, such as deposit accounts and diverse loan options. We are truly grateful for their continuous support,” he pointed out.

On his part, the bank’s Director of Retail Banking Elibariki Masuke said that the bank has a long-standing tradition of sponsoring the celebrations and recognising the importance of workers as a crucial pillar in the banks prosperity.

“Our collaboration with the workers is further strengthened by the dedicated services we offer, taking into account their needs, including safeguarding their deposits through various account options and providing them with short and long-term loans without collateral. This aligns well with our campaign of Shinda Mechi
Zako, Kinamna Yako,” said the banker.

Elaborating, Masuke noted that it’s their pool of professional, innovative and high- level efficiency of his colleagues that has attracted more customers, including workers from various organizations and institutions, who consider the bank as their crucial provider of financial services, hence, stability and growth of the bank to
progress.

“The celebration of the International Workers Day has been successful, with the active involvement of NBC Bank and underscoring the strong partnership between TUCTA and its stakeholders like us in supporting the well-being and financial empowerment of workers across Tanzania,” added Mr Masuke.
