TSN forum to unlock opportunities in Mwanza

MWANZA:  NEW open forum organised by Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited (TSN) is expected to unlock investment opportunities for youths in Mwanza by connecting them with loans, business knowledge and direct access to service providers.

Dubbed ‘Jukwaa la Wazi Fungua Fursa’, the platform will also offer financial literacy, health insurance services and guidance from land and agriculture experts on various government-supported projects.

The Mwanza Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS), Mr Elikana Balandya, said during the launch yesterday that the initiative should encourage young people to take part in productive economic activities and utilise opportunities available in their areas.

“We want youths to be directly involved in economic opportunities, understand investment areas and make good use of loan opportunities provided by the government and various institutions,” he said.

Mr Balandya said the platform should also educate communities on development opportunities while supporting implementation of government policies and the vision of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

He added that councils should continue setting aside specific areas for development and investment to facilitate business activities and improve livelihoods.

The RAS said the TSN forum is expected to act as a catalyst for positive change by opening up economic and social opportunities, particularly for young people.

TSN Director of Business Development, Ms Soter Salema, said the forum will bring together different service providers to enable wananchi access services and information in one place.

“We aim for the people to receive direct services and also have the opportunity to give their suggestions to the Government through ‘Jukwaa la Wazi Fungua Fursa’,” she said.

Ms Salema added that the forum would also create a platform for stakeholders to provide investment education and encourage wider public participation in regional and national development.
