‘Try Again’ calls for Simba unity

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA Chairman of the Board of Directors, Salim Abdallah ‘Try Again’ has called for unity in the club, saying their focus should be channeled towards the upcoming CAF Champions League (CAF CL) fixtures.
The Reds host ASEC Mimosas in their first group stage match of the CAF CL at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on November 25th.
Thereafter, Simba will travel to play their second Group B match against Jwaneng Galaxy at Francistown Stadium in Botswana on December 2, their first away game of the season’s CAF CL.
“The most important thing we request from our members and fans is that from now on, our focus should be on the Champions League, we should not lose it all.
“If we unite and hold hands together, we will forget what has happened…if we defeat ASEC Mimosas, we will create a good road map to reach where we want to go.
“Our target this season is to go beyond the quarter finals of the Champions League; how can we easily fulfill that if we are not on good terms with each other within the club,”.
“We should therefore sit together and find a way out of this situation and we should have one spirit because we still have a good team,” Try Again said.
He continued: “Let me inform our members, fans, and Tanzanians at large that our team has made positive achievements though there are some challenges here and there.
“If we were not making progress, we could not have managed to scoop fifth or sixth place of the best clubs in Africa and African Football League (AFL) could not have selected Tanzania to host the opening ceremony of our team was not good.”
He added that for Simba to win AFL fans of the tournament, perhaps that could be a green light for the inaugural ceremony of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted in the country.
