TCRA organizes a bootcamp for tech students
Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has organized a four-day training camp for 35 female students from three institutions in Arusha that aims at preparing students to create new technological solutions to societal challenges.
The training is in preparation for the International Girls in ICT that will commence on the 27th of April.
Information released by the authority on Tuesday through its verified twitter handler, @TCRA_Tz, mentioned the beneficiaries of the training as the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA), University of Arusha, and Arusha Technical College.
According to the authority, the training began on March 27, 2023 and its main goal is to prepare students to create new technological solutions to societal challenges.
The launching ceremony was led by the Interim Director of IAA, Prof Epaphra Manamba, TCRA facilitators and TCRA Northern Zone Office Manager, Imelda Salum.
“TCRA supports the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) initiatives to raise awareness of the gender digital divide, provide hands-on technology education and training, and encourage young women to seek jobs in science and technology,” part of TCRA’s tweet read.
