THE Africa Trade Conference (ATC) organised by the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) commenced on Thursday with the aim of bringing sustainable trade among African nations.
The Africa Trade Conference is an annual conference that seeks to play an important role in facilitating dialogue, networking, and advancing knowledge and information about trade in Africa and trade with Africa.
The conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya with the ultimate goal of integrating the continent trade and Investments to enable prospering of Africa’s economic development.
The founder and CEO of Regal Africa Group, Ms Anne Gaitha said trade is the only sustainable way to eradicate poverty in Africa and transform communication among African traders.
“Trade, not aids are the answer for Africans’ prosperity,” Ms Gaitha said. Regal aims at encouraging Africans to trade within the continent.
The AfCFTA aims to reduce tariffs among members and covers policy areas such as trade facilitation and services, as well as regulatory measures such as sanitary standards and technical barriers to trade.
The stakeholders of ATC 2022 are from various African countries, the African diaspora, the global business community, and global trade experts.
The two days conference ends today and was held in two forms—virtual and physical—aiming of sustainable trade.
