Traders advised to use digital devices to enhance security

Wholesale and retail traders in Mwanza Region have been urged to strengthen security in their business premises by installing surveillance cameras to protect the business from theft and vandalism.
This was said by the Mwanza Regional Police Commander Mr Wilbroad Mtafungwa during the meeting with business people held in the region over the weekend.
“The world is changing fast towards digital technology for which we must use modern security devices to deter crime,” he said.
The meeting aimed at discussing different issues to enhance the collaborative maximisation of safety business operations and economic production at large.
He also urged businesspeople to employ certified security firms and abstain from using bogus security firms lacking the required security skills.
For his part, the Regional Chairman of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (TCCIA), Mr Chacha Kenene said there is a need for the local government authority of the area to put surveillance cameras on the streets to reduce crimes.
