TRA steps up efforts to build taxpayers’ trust in the authority

DODOMA: TANZANIA Revenue Authority (TRA) has directed its TRA staff to develop good relations with taxpayers by serving them professionally and in compliance with the law.
The move comes a day after President Samia Suluhu Hassan ordered the government institutions to ensure they serve all Tanzanians well.
The TRA Commissioner General, Yusuph Juma Mwenda, issued the directives when he visited TRA offices in Dodoma and spoke to staff, accompanied by TRA Management.

Commissioner General Mwenda said a good relationship between TRA and taxpayers not only builds taxpayers’ trust in the authority, but also encourages voluntary tax payment and increases government revenue for national development.

“Continue to strengthen relations with taxpayers by visiting them, listening to them, and resolving their challenges promptly. This will continue to build taxpayers’ trust in us,” said Mwenda.
