Speaking at the event, TRA Director of Taxpayer Education and Communications, Mr Richard Kayombo, highlighted the role of taxation in national development.

He commended taxpayers for their contributions and assured them that TRA would continue offering education on tax compliance while the government improves the business environment.
Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Mr Nurdin Babu, in a speech read on his behalf by Moshi District Commissioner Mr Godfrey Mnzava, praised TRA for introducing the taxpayer awards, which he said strengthen governmentbusiness relations.
“I urge traders to avoid tax evasion so the government can continue funding development projects,” he stated.
Among the award recipients was Mr Suleiman Mfinanga, Director of Kifaru Oil Company in Mwanga District, who lauded TRA for fostering a culture of voluntary tax compliance.
“This event has encouraged more traders to pay taxes willingly, ensuring the government can implement its development plans,” he said.
