TRA announces Presidential Awards for top taxpayers heading to its Pearl Jubilee
DODOMA: THE TANZANIA Revenue Authority (TRA) is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special event to be held on July 1, 2026, alongside the presentation of the Presidential Awards for top taxpayers for the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year.
Speaking in Dodoma on behalf of the TRA Commissioner General, Yusuph Mwenda, TRA’s Director of Taxpayer Education and Communications, Richard Kayombo, said the celebrations will be held under the theme, “Three Decades of TRA, a Brave Taxpayer, a Self-reliant Tanzania”.
Kayombo said the celebrations aim to celebrate the achievements made in the 30 years since TRA was established in 1996, as well as continue to promote voluntary tax payment and strengthen cooperation between TRA and taxpayers
He explained that President Dr Samia will present the best taxpayers of the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 awards to taxpayers who have shown integrity, responsibility, and significant contribution to the development of the nation through tax payment.

In addition, he said that the awards are a way to recognize and appreciate the contribution of taxpayers in financing social services, implementing development projects, and growing the country’s economy in various fields.
He noted that the progress seen in health, education, infrastructure, and other public services sectors depends largely on tax revenues.
TRA has urged taxpayers and Tanzanians in general to continue fulfilling their tax obligations voluntarily and on time in order to continue stimulating the development of the nation and build Tanzania with a strong and sustainable economy.
