TPSF chair bags prestigious award

The chairperson of the Tanzania Private sector Foundation (TPSF) Angelina Ngalula has been declared the most influential queen under the business leadership category- ‘Malkia wa Nguvu awards 2023’.

The prestigious Malkia wa Nguvu awards recognise exceptional women and involved hundreds of Tanzania females across the country who have excelled in various spheres of life.

Ms Ngalula, also the founder and owner of Bravo Group and Agricom Africa joined the Tanzanian women celebrities in Dar es Salaam at the weekend to receive the ultimate annual honour of the Malkia wa Nguvu Awards as the winner in the business leadership category.

She was awarded based on her rise from humble beginnings to one of the most successful business ladies. Her story is inspiring to many, as it started with her brave decision to quit employment and venture into a male dominated logistics industry.

As it happened, Ms Ngalula now owns over 100-fleet of trucks as well as three Internal Container Depots (ICD) servicing highly valuable minerals from neighbouring countries destined for export markets.

She has also contracted a Tea Auction facility, a first of its kind in Tanzania that will see Tanzanian tea being traded in Tanzania, ending the previous arrangement where the tea was auctioned in the neighbouring country.

Ms Ngalula Agricom’s Africa currently controls the largest market share in Tanzania in agri-equipment business. This is a clear testimony that women can be game changers in doing big business in Tanzania and the region.

Ms Ngalula is also a chairperson of TPSF representing four million businesses, and the giant East African Business Council (EABC) overseeing seven member states.

“I thank God for his all-round blessings because, without his hand, I wouldn’t be able to win. I dedicate this award to all women in Tanzania and beyond who are struggling to do business,” she noted.

Ms Ngalula expressed her gratitude to the Tanzanians who overwhelmingly voted for her in recognising her efforts in developing business in Tanzania as the private sector leader and the Cloud Media group for organising awards specifically for women.
