MWANZA: PREMIER League teams have continued to dominate and shine in the ongoing Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) after eliminating the lower division teams in the third round of the tournament.

Tanga’s Coastal Union earned a 1-0 win over Mbeya Kwanza at their home ground Mkwakwani Stadium, the three premier league sides have succeeded in eliminating the Championship sides from the ASFC.
After being eliminated from the ASFC, FGAT Head Coach, Ngawina Ngawina said that they were not lucky in their game against Singida FG as they fought hard to win but victory went to the opposite side.
“It was not our lucky day as we fought hard and even got a penalty and we missed it, but that is how football is, so after being eliminated we now turn our focus to the ongoing Championship League which is also vital to us,” said Ngawina.
He further said after failure to post positive results in their last three matches, they are going back to the drawing table to see where they have fallen and rectify their mistakes and return to winning ways. FGT lost 1-0 against Biashara United at CCM Karume in Mara before being held to a 1-1 draw by Stand United at CCM Kambarage in Shinyanga in Championship League and the 2-0 loss against Singida FG.
On his side, Singida FG FC Head Coach, Thabo Senong commended his team’s performance, disclosing that the win has rejuvenated his players’ morale since they had suffered two consecutive defeats in their two premier league matches.
Meanwhile, the FGA returns to Morogoro region where they have pitched their training camp ahead of their Championship League game against Pan African FC to be played on March 2 at the Jamhuri stadium.
On March 9, they will play against Cosmopolitan at the Mabatini Stadium in the Coast region, and on March 16 and 24 face Mbuni FC and TMA FC respectively at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.
