TISEZA requests global football icon to promote Tanzania investment internationally

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority’s (TISEZA) Director General, Mr Gilead Teri has requested a globally renowned football legend, former England and Manchester United Captain, Mr Rio Ferdinand to serve as Tanzania’s goodwill ambassador for investment.
He urged the football icon to become an ambassador for the country’s investment sector by sharing his Tanzania’s experience with international investors and business networks upon returning home.
Furthermore, he encouraged Mr Ferdinand to tap various investment opportunities in Tanzania given the country’s conducive investment atmosphere.
He welcomed Mr Ferdinand for investment on Friday in Arusha in a meeting presided over by the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Mr Paul Makonda.
Mr Teri highlighted Tanzania’s strategic position as the East Africa’s gateway featured by the Dar es Salaam Port and well established transport and logistics networks.

Mr Teri noted that Tanzania has diverse investment potentials in range of sectors including tourism, sports, real estate, manufacturing and the blue economy.
He further explained the important role being played by TISEZA in facilitating investors through investment guidance, incentives, and streamlined services aimed at ensuring smooth and successful investment experiences.
In that regard,he encouraged Mr Ferdinand to explore the available opportunities for his personal benefits and economic growth of Tanzania at large.
In the press conference, Mr Ferdinand thanked Tanzanians for the warm reception they accorded him throughout his tour in the country.
While pledging to support Tanzania’s football talents, he also welcomed the government’s request for him to serve as a tourism ambassador.
The meeting focused on the country’s growing investment opportunities and favourable business environment.
It reflected Tanzania’s continued commitment to attracting global investors and strengthening international partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic development.
