TFF warns clubs on transfer deadline

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has issued a clear reminder to clubs participating in the Premier League and Championship to complete all player transfers and registrations ahead of the 2025/2026 season.

The official transfer window that began on July 1 will close on September 7. In a recent statement, TFF made it clear that the deadline is final, with no possibility of an extension.

Clifford Ndimbo, the TFF’s Media and Communications Officer, called on clubs to act without delay to ensure they complete all necessary procedures on time.

“There will be no grace period after the window closes. Clubs are responsible for finalising all registrations and transfers within the designated timeframe,” Ndimbo said.

He also clarified that all processes must be completed through the FIFA Connect system, the official global platform for managing player movements and registration data.

“This system facilitates permanent transfers, loan agreements and new player registrations. It is essential that clubs upload accurate and complete documentation to avoid complications,” he noted.

Ndimbo further advised that any club facing technical or procedural issues should promptly contact the TFF Competitions Department for assistance.

This directive is part of TFF’s broader efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure a smooth start to the new season. According to the federation, meeting the deadline is crucial for maintaining the integrity and fairness of the competition.

The message serves as a clear call to action for club administrators and team officials across the country.

TFF also noted that failure to comply with registration requirements could jeopardise a club’s eligibility to compete in the upcoming campaign.

“With the deadline fast approaching, teams are strongly encouraged to finalise their squad lists and player contracts well in advance of September 7 to avoid unnecessary setbacks,” Ndimbo concluded.
