TFF grooms upcoming talents to boost the national teams

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Football Federation (TFF) has revealed plans to enhance talent development in the ongoing second phase programme at the TFF Technical Centre in Mnyanjani, Tanga, under the guidance of FIFA experts.

The Technical Director of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Oscar Mirambo said yesterday that the second phase of the programme aims to bolster the national teams with promising talents.

“We have scouted talents from Arusha, and we are targeting more young players from Mwanza to be part of this project, With AFCON qualifiers this year and World Cup qualifications for U-17 in 2025, we are preparing these young talents according to the scientific needs of football so that they can be utilised in up- coming competitions.” Mirambo explained.

Mirambo emphasised that the federation aims to groom players according to the requirements of modern football, ensuring they are ready to represent the nation in future tournaments.

“Hence, players identified by coaches as having potential will join those from the initial group to serve the nation in the up coming competitions,” Mirambo highlighted.

He added that starting from 2025, there will be youth football tournaments leading up to the U-17 World Cup. “The project targets players aged U-13 and U-17,” Mirambo elaborated.

Furthermore, some beneficiaries of the programme have described the second phase of the talent development programme as well organised.

Speaking after training, they expressed their satisfaction with the programme, emphasising their future dreams of soccer.

Player Mohamed Wawa said that the environment of the programme is friendly, and thus, he has no doubt that the programme will produce much needed talent.

“We have lived well, the instructions are good. I am sure we will get good players and ultimately good results in U-13 and U-17 tournaments,” explained Wawa.

Wawa also expressed that one of his dreams in soccer is to become a prominent player and contribute to his nation.

On his part, Player Suleiman Hussein said, “In the camp, we have been receiving instructions from the coaches, and everyone is giving their all to make us better.”
