TFF assures CAF of maximum support

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has assured the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that the match between Young Africans against Mamelodi Sundowns will be played under the laid down regulations and procedures in terms of access to the stadium.

This was revealed in a letter signed by the federation’s General Secretary Kidao Wilfred addressed to CAF over the weekend.

It said: “We are writing in respect of your communication today (March 22nd) regarding Security Concerns in Tanzania. TFF assures CAF that the match in question (Young Africans against Mamelodi Sundowns) will be played under the laid down regulations and procedures in terms of access to the stadium.

“Thus, note that passports will not be used as access to the stadium for supporters of Mamelodi Sundowns and whoever because matches are not manned by the Immigration Department.

The letter further assured maximum security in CAF matches scheduled to take place in the country.

“Mamelodi Sundowns team is guaranteed security from relevant organs during their stay in the country to honour their fixture against Young Africans.

This guarantee also covers match officials, travelling Sundowns FC supporters as well as fans residing in Tanzania who want to attend the match,” reads part of the letter. It added: “Be assured of our maximum support in the organisation of all CAF matches scheduled or planned to take place in Tanzania et cetera.”
