TANZANIA: A total of 10 students with an outstanding performance in their form six national examinations have been granted a full scholarship to pursue their higher education studies under the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The students have been sponsored to study Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at various universities in Tanzania for the year 2023/24.
According to a press statement issued by the Bank of Tanzania (BOT), the scholarship covers all their fees, living expenses (accommodation and food), practical training and learning materials, including laptops.
Beneficiaries of the sponsorship, according to the statement, are; Victoria Robert, Prisca Mshana, Doreen Mfinanga, Emiy Mfanga, Baraka Nyingo, Pelagrina Mbugi and Baddawi Issa. They will be studying bachelor degrees at local universities.
For Master’s, beneficiaries are Kanuda Sasi, Lucy Mahulu and Magdalena Suguta.
The Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Bank of Tanzania on 12th October, 2009 in commemoration of the great achievements of the Father of the Nation Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere.
It is primarily dedicated for sponsoring undergraduate female students with outstanding academic achievement to pursue Science and Mathematics studies in Tanzanian accredited universities with the aim of promoting academic excellence of the students in respective fields.
