Tembo Nickel seeks to expand its footprint in Tanzania’s mining industry

WASHINGTON: TANZANIA has held high-level talks with Tembo Nickel Company executives aimed at strengthening investment cooperation in the country’s mining sector.

This discussion was held between Tanzania’s Minister for Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar and Tembo Nickel Chief Executive Officer Chris Showalter at the Tanzanian Embassy in Washington, D.C., on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings.

According to information from the ministry, the discussions held today, April 15, 2026, focused on expanding the company’s investment footprint in Tanzania’s mining industry, with both sides exploring opportunities to enhance value addition and long-term economic benefits.

During the meeting, government representatives emphasized Tanzania’s commitment to creating a conducive investment environment, particularly in strategic sectors such as mining, which continue to play a key role in driving economic growth.
