TCAA cherishes the AI system it has installed in 15 Tanzanian airports

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), has stated that despite having artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the authority is committed to using it to operate its systems, as it is necessary due to the changes happening globally.

Speaking today, January 23, 2026, in Dar es Salaam at the 45th Annual Meeting of the Tanzania Air Traffic Controllers Association (TATCA),  the TCAA Director General, Salim Msang,i said TCAA has installed modern systems at 15 airports across the country, adding that these systems will help improve efficiency and safety in the aviation sector.

“Tanzania’s airspace has been reliable and safe, which has attracted many aircraft to pass through. This reliability is due to robust communication systems,” Msangi noted.

Meanwhile, TATCA President Merkiory Ndaboya said the meeting is expected to be productive for the aviation sector, as the authority has pledged to continue allocating budgets for specialists to enhance the efficiency of services provided by experienced aviation professionals.

TATCA member Hellen Mosha added that the meeting will help participants discuss various issues concerning the aviation sector and further improve it.
