THE Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) has unveiled a14-man squad that will represent the country in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers to begin on December 1st this year in the Rwandan capital, Kigali.
The team will be captained by an experienced top order batsman Abhik Patwa with more than 20 years in his local and international spell.
The team will be under Kenyan World Cup experienced cricketer, Jimmy Kamande who is now coaching to be assisted by the former skipper and the left-armed Hamis Abdallah as the team’s manager.
Among others in the team are regular faces with international experience like Kassim Nassoro, Mohamed Omary, Ally Kimote and Salum Jumbe.
The list also has Yalinde Nkanya, Harsheen Chouhan, Johnson Nyambo, Akhil Anil, Jitin Singh, Sanjay Thakor, Amal Amal, Ivan Seleman and Mohamed Yunus.
All matches will be hosted at Gahanga International Stadium where the Tanzanian envoys will start their campaign against Sierra Leone.
The following day (December 4th) Tanzania will meet Ghana while on another date they will be playing against Mozambique on December 5th.
The fixture shows that the Tanzanian envoys will confront Eswatini on December 6th before facing Gambia on the same day.
Other matches in their fixture will be against Nigeria and Cameroon on December 8th and 9th this year.
Tanzania has regularly participated in the regional qualifiers, making a positive contribution despite its failure to win the title.
The envoys recently won the so-called Tanzania-Rwanda Bilateral Series as part of their build up ahead of the event in Kigali.
