TBL committed to support local brewer

TANZANIA Breweries Limited (TBL) is eager to support an upcoming Twiga Brewery as the latter envisions producing quality brands and products.

Speaking during a knowledge exchange session here recently, TBL Managing Director Jose Daniel Moran said the oldest and largest brewing company was willing to support the new kid on the block as it strives to establish itself in the business.

“Such engagements are very important and are key part of our role and responsibility as one of the country’s oldest brewing companies and one of Tanzania’s most valuable brands,” explained the TBL boss.

Mr Moran said he was confident that such a visit will Tanzania’s oldest brewer to better understand the vision of the industry with Twiga.

“We, at TBL have a tradition of supporting homemade craft as we look forward to improve the sector,” added Mr Moran as his company hosted Twiga Brewery staff on a familiarization tour of its state-of-the-art plant in

The TBL Managing Director further assured that firm will continue strengthening engagement to support more smallholder farmers of sorghum and barley.

In his rejoinder, Twiga Brewer Spokesperson Raphael Flury described the brief tour as a valuable opportunity to gain insight into TBL’s operations and explore avenues of cooperation and support in the future.

“Extensive sharing of data, information, and practical knowledge will help pinpoint the direction of how our brewery can continue to grow,” observed the Twiga Spokesperson.

Through its Smart Agriculture Initiatives, TBL has become Tanzania’s active player in the agriculture value chain directly empowering farmers of its main agricultural inputs including sorghum, barley, and grapes.

The Smart Agriculture Initiative has a goal to achieve 100 per cent skilled, connected, and financially empowered TBL direct farmers by 2025 among all farmers delivering to the plant.

It has targeted such knowledge and skill-sharing activities to continue building relationships that will last and see businesses benefit from the expertise within TBL.
