DAR ES SALAAM: THE Chairperson of the Tax Reform Commission, Ambassador Ombeni Sefue, has commended the Government Newspapers Company (TSN) for its significant role in educating the public and stakeholders on taxation and investment matters in Tanzania through its publications, Daily News and HabariLEO.
Speaking today at the Tax and Investment Forum held in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Sefue noted that TSN has made a unique contribution by consistently publishing informative articles on tax-related topics, which has helped enhance public awareness and stakeholder understanding.
“I would like to thank the media outlets that have been covering the work we are doing. In particular, I extend my appreciation to TSN, through Daily News and HabariLEO. Since we began our work, they have been publishing at least one or two articles every week on taxation matters. This is truly commendable,” said Ambassador Sefue.

The primary aim of the forum was to discuss effective ways to improve the national tax system in a way that promotes economic growth.
Ambassador Sefue emphasized that the forum serves as part of an ongoing dialogue between the commission and stakeholders, where opinions, challenges, and recommendations are carefully considered to inform the final report to be submitted to the government.
“The commission is open to hearing every important point raised by stakeholders, as our goal is to develop proposals that will enhance a tax system suitable for investment and national development,” he added.
