TASAC wins best prepared financial statements award

THE Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) has won the best prepared financial statements award under government regulatory authorities’ category.

The National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) award was based on observing International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) for 2021 and was presented over the weekend in Dar es Salaam.

TASAC Acting Director General Mr Rajab Moses said the award testifies to how they are observing the guideline which elevates trust for local and international customers’ services.

“When attaining this milestone it raises the public’s trust that we are doing a good job for shippers and transporters,” Mr Moses said adding:

“It also means that plans for reaping more in the marine economy and the blue economy set by the government were on the right track.”

He added that TASAC is keenly striving to ensure that public finances are well handled and financial books are well prepared and transparently presented as per set standards.

He called for other government institutions to participate in NBAA competition to raise the trust of the members of public.
