Tap AFCON opportunities

KILIMANJARO: THE Northern Zone region’s investors and business people have been encouraged to enhance, expand and add value to their services by taking advantage of the opportunity in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The 2027 AFCON finals will be jointly hosted by three East African states of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.

Some of the matches will be played in the Arusha region, where construction of an ultramodern stadium called Samia Suluhu Hassan is currently underway in preparation for the finals.

Emmanuel Nchimbi, the Secretary General of the ruling party – Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), made the call during a public rally in Moshi town.

He urged the residents of the Northern Zone regions to make proper preparations to benefit from the tournament.

Nchimbi emphasised the importance of preparing for the AFCON tournament. He highlighted the need for the residents of the neighbouring regions, such as Kilimanjaro and Tanga, to start preparing to take advantage of the opportunities the tournament will bring.

“The 2027 AFCON Cup tournament will be staged here in our country, so the residents of the neighbouring region of Arusha must start preparing now and utilise the opportunities available. Among the areas the businessmen may look upon include building training camps in Moshi, and accommodation,” said Nchimbi.

He also urged leaders to encourage business people and investors to invest in the region, creating a conducive business environment that will benefit both tourists and local businesses.

Nchimbi and his delegation, on a three-day working tour in the Kilimanjaro region, are nearing the end of their tour in the Tanga region.

The purpose of this tour is to address people’s concerns and to assess the implementation of the 2020-2025 election manifestos.
