Tanzania’s women entrepreneurs urged to build lasting wealth

DAR ES SALAAM: THE newly recognised 2026 TOP Young Women Entrepreneurs have been encouraged to continue working hard, explore opportunities in order to build stronger businesses and lasting wealth.

A total of 13 Tanzanian women entrepreneurs were awarded for their achievements, innovation and contribution to the country’s economy during a special event held in Dar es Salaam recently.

In her remarks, Young Women Entrepreneurs (YWE) Co-founder Beatrice Kimaro said TOP YWE is not just about celebrating what women have achieved but rather, it is about giving them the knowledge, networks and opportunities to build stronger businesses and lasting wealth.

According to her, with this year’s recognition, YWE has now celebrated 191 women entrepreneurs through
the TOP YWE platform since its launch in 2022.

However, the 2026 YWE programme went beyond recognition, equipping entrepreneurs with practical
knowledge to grow businesses, access finance and build longterm wealth.

It featured key sessions like Unlocking Trade Finance which focuses on helping women entrepreneurs understand and access trade finance instruments to expand their businesses and enter new markets.

Also, it looked into Building Wealth Beyond Business through exploring shares, bonds, collective investments and alternative assets as pathways to diversified wealth.

Again, it dealt with From Idea to Impact, a practical insights into building and scaling a successful beauty brand.

YWE thanked its partners, sponsors, judges, speakers, volunteers and the entire organising team for contributing to the success of TOP YWE 2026.

The organisation remains committed to building an ecosystem where young women can start, grow, scale and create lasting impact through entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer at Lindsey Electronics Ms Lightness Mbise who was among the 13 TOP YWE awardees said the recognition meant a lot to her and that she will work harder to accelerate her business empire.

Similarly, another awardee on the day Agness Kahamba who is president at Paza Sauti Foundation said the acknowledgement is a reflection of her entrepreneur journey, commitment, resilience and contribution to business growth.
