Tanzania’s President joins global leaders to congratulate Xi
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has joined other global leaders to congratulate President Xi Jinping for being re-elected for a third term.
In her congratulatory message shared through her official twitter account, @SuluhuSamia, the Head of State promised Xi a strengthened relationship with China.
“I’m looking forward to continuing working together to strengthen the comprehensive cooperative strategic partnership between Tanzania & China,” reads part of President Samia’s tweet.
On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election to a third term.
Putin hailed the growing links between the two nations.
According to News24, other African heads of State who have congratulated China’s President Xi are Liberia’s George Weah, the Central Africa Republic’s (CAR) Faustin-Archange Touadéra as well as Nigeria’s outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Last week, Xi Jinping was unanimously elected as Chinese President.
He was also elected chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) by a unanimous vote.
A total of 2,952 deputies were present at the third plenary meeting of the first session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) to exercise their constitutional right to elect China’s state leadership.
