Tanzania’s MOI digitalizes its operational system

DAR ES SALAAM: MUHIMBILI Orthopedic, Neurological and Neurological Institute (MOI) has officially launched a new electronic system that enables patients to schedule appointments with doctors online, without having to come to the hospital.
The system, known as the MOI Online Appointment System, was launched on roday by the MOI Executive Director, Dr. Mpoki Ulisubisya, who said that the technology aims to reduce congestion and inconvenience for patients.
“Using this system, a patient can choose a doctor, date, time and clinic they need to visit. This helps avoid the situation of arriving at the hospital without receiving services due to the absence of a doctor or the clinic being closed,” said Dr. Mpoki.

He explained that immediately after making an appointment, the patient will receive a text message confirming the appointment. In the event of a change such as a doctor not attending, advance notice will be given by phone to enable the patient to reschedule or choose another doctor.
This system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is available through the official MOI website: www.moi.ac.tz.
He encouraged Tanzanian citizens to use the system, noting that it is part of MOI’s efforts to strengthen service delivery using modern digital systems, in line with the development of science and technology.
