Tanzania’s Miss World envoy in France to promote her country’s rich heritage

PARIS: MISS World Tanzania 2026, Latricia Ian, has met Tanzania’s Ambassador to France, Saidi Othman Yakubu, to discuss the role of youth in promoting Tanzania’s culture, tourism and the Kiswahili language on the global stage.
Latricia is in France to participate in the World Kiswahili Day celebrations, organised through a partnership between the Tanzanian government and various stakeholders to advance Kiswahili’s status as an international language while strengthening cultural diplomacy.

During the meeting at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, Ambassador Yakubu congratulated Latricia for representing Tanzania in international forums and underscored the importance of leveraging the influence of youth and the beauty industry to promote Kiswahili, Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage and tourism opportunities worldwide.
Latricia reaffirmed her commitment to serving as a goodwill ambassador for Tanzania, saying she would continue using international platforms to encourage more people to learn and use Kiswahili while showcasing the country’s cultural identity and tourism potential.
